When
he was a kid, Orrin Jesse Heller saw a Strong Woman act at a carnival.
From that day on he was an insatiable collector of material about female
athletes.
From
the 30's to the 80's he sought out strong women in circuses, vaudeville
and pro-wrestling, taking snaps and movies of them posing and flexing.
He was there at Muscle Beach, recording Pudgy Stockton and Relma Brewer
performing increadible acrobatics. He was there at the birth of Modern
Female Bodybuilding. In all he chronicled nearly an entire century of
Female Power
Now
this massive collection, the life's work of a man dedicated to beautiful feminine strength, is available on the web as a reference for the education
and entertainment of a new generation of strength fans.
There
is a lot of material so the site will be a work in progress as we organize
and build new galleries. Please be patient. We guarantee, if you are a
fan of Strong Women, you will not be disappointed. |
